I am currently a teacher in my ward. To put it mildly, the last half of the Doctrine and Covenants manual has been ABYSMAL.
Correlation Dept: is there really not enough scriptural meat in the D&C to fill a year's worth of lessons?
Anyway, for most lessons, I listen to the scriptural roundtable discussions from the (Mormon) Interpreter foundation. [I haven't done this as consistently since their hatchet/straw man review of Passing the Heavenly Gift.]
During the video for this week's lesson on the Proclamation on the family, Mike Parker said, "You don't make doctrine based on the exceptions..."
Sorry, Brother Mike. You don't make doctrine at all.
